Brown Sugar Nut Cookies

1 cup soft butter or margarine
1-1/2 cups firmly packed light brown sugar
4 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 large egg
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup sour cream
Pecan halves

Beat together butter and sugar until creamy. Add egg and beat until light and fluffy. Add the dry ingredients and sour cream; mix well. Shape into balls the size of a small walnut. Put on ungreased cookie sheets and press a pecan in center of each. Bake in a preheated oven 400° F for about 10 to 12 minutes. Makes around 6 dozen brown sugar cookies.
