Combine cream cheese and butter until smooth. Add flour gradually, until a soft dough ball has formed. Cover and chill overnight. Preheat oven to 350 F. Roll out small sections of dough. (Keep remaining dough chilled.) Cut dough into rectangles roughly 1 1/2 x 2 inches. Place filling on one corner of the pastry and roll it up. Seal the edge with egg white. Alternately, cut dough into squares, place filling in center and bring opposite corners together in the center of the filling. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes. Note:

Would make this again. being that i am Polish i remember making these cookies they are better homemade than store bought.i'm making these cookies for the men that are leaving to go fight in the war, they re leaving in december.they are going to love these.all of us wives are making something different for them.i wanted to make them something by hand not out of a box, like some of the others will do.this is going to be awesome to see their faces after biting into the cookie.yeahme...thank you stacey_inalaska Would make this again. People can't believe I made these - many think these cookies are very difficult and best bought at a bakery. I was surprised how easy these were to make. The dough was easy to work with. I did find that thick jams worked better than thin or very clear jams. e
